(Sr.) Unix System Admin
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, build, support, manage and maintain servers in both production and test environments.
- Provide 7 x 24 support for web site and perform troubleshooting to resolve problems.
- Install, configure, support & maintain routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, vpns and other network equipment.
- Configure and support DNS
- Set up and support systems & network monitoring
- Perform capacity planning.
- Install, configure, & support NFS & internal or direct attached storage arrays.
- Perform systems automation thru scripting of repetitive manual processes
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or related fields of working experience
- 5+ years of experience in network administration, especially in Unix environment
- Internet, e-commerce experience required
- Previous experience managing and maintaining production systems based Linux, preferably for high volume web sites.
- Understanding of TCP-IP networking fundamentals, routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
- Familiar with how to set up Internet Core Infrastructure: Apache, DHCP, SNMPD, CVS and NFS - Knowledge of maintaining all the hardware and software for both testing and operating environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of configuration to ensure a stable, process-based datacenter environment and follow good practices of change control & configuration management.
- “Can-do” attitude in daily operations duties and trouble-shooting in any business related issues.
- Basic shell and PERL scripting.
- Experience with systems & network security including use of firewalls and dDOS detection & mitigation
Pluses:
- Experience with server log processing and analysis
- Experience managing large number of hosts with automated tools.
- Experience with monitoring systems: Nagios.
- Linux kernel tuning.
- Experience with Oracle Databases.
